This iconic Western bronze was originally sculpted by James Earle Fraser in 1918 for display at the World's Fair in St. Louis. There are few images in bronze that capture the raw emotion of Fraser's masterpiece. It depicts the Indian fighter on his horse, both spent and exhausted after years of a losing battle to hold back White settlers and their army, truly reaching the end of their trail. This bronze is crafted of the finest silicon
bronze in the California art foundry and boasts excellent detail.
The figure is finished with the deep, rich patina that has been
fused into the metal under extreme heat. The piece is signed
"James Earle Fraser" in the bronze and mounted onto
a marble base. This is truly an iconic work of art that will
last to be treasured for centuries to come. |
